This year has been crazy, never mind trying to have and/or plan a wedding. We were initially meant
to be married in July 2020, then we postponed to April 2021. The more we thought about it, we just
didn’t want to wait and decided in November to go ahead and get married in December 2020.
From all these date moves, changes of number etc, the Dunadry and their team were with us every
step of the way. Kirsty was great on emails and offering advice and Malachy was just great on the
day itself.
Even when they had no answers to give due to changes in regulations, they were checking in and
updating us on what they could.
We ended up having a magical day on Saturday 19th December and it was all we wanted and more,
despite covid. We had a more intimate wedding than originally planned but it was simply amazing.
We booked the hotel for our original wedding of 150 guests and it was suitable for both that, and
the more intimate wedding that we decided to have in the end. One of the things that made all the
changes to our wedding so easy, was our choice in the Dunadry itself. They had multiple rooms
available to suit any amount of number of guests.
The hotel and staff catered to our every need, form creating a complete menu just to suit us and
essentially allowing us to create our own package.
We opted for mulled wine on arrival due to time of the year, but they had endless lists of exciting
cocktails and other options and it was so hard to choose just one.
We had some guests with special diets and the staff made sure to check in regularly that everything
was ok for them and offering suitable alternatives to our choices. One of these guests specifically
commented on how attentive the staff had been throughout the day and how impressed they were.
The room was set up beautifully and all our instructions followed to the letter with every attention
to detail given. We used some of their in-house lighting/decor and it just topped off the look of
everything.
All we have heard from our guests since the big day was that the staff were so attentive, and the
food was beautiful! Great menu choices and what we did select in the end was delicious. The
portions were a good size and none of our guests went hungry in the slightest.
Most of the guests stayed overnight and commented on the decor of the rooms, they are all finished
to such a high standard. The stay was finished off with a cooked breakfast which was cooked to
perfection.
Not to mention the gardens, we chose not to go anywhere else for our photos and we are delighted
that we did. The Secret Garden is a great addition to the already beautiful grounds, and I can’t wait
to see all of our photos that were featured there. It is such a great aspect of the hotel for your
wedding.
If I could give any other couples some great advice, choose the Dunadry for your wedding…it will be
the easiest and best decision that you make.
